Malta Middle School held its Spelling Bee on January 24, 2023. Titus Wiederrick and Peyton Branham battled back and forth for 7 rounds before a winner was declared. Peyton spelled configuration and provocation to become the champion. Representing Malta Middle School in the Phillips County Bee which will be held February 8th, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Malta High School auditorium will be Tripp Lefdahl, Finn Witmer, Kade Bleth, Titus Wiederrick, and Peyton Branham. Alternates are Amelia Walking Eagle-Johanneson and Kiptyn Bain.

The Malta M-ettes and the Malta Student Council will be asking the community to help raise funds for former M-ette legend Skyla Sisco Thursday, January 26th at the home games against Glasgow. Skyla helped lead the M-ettes to their 1st of 10 State championships in 1991. Skyla is battling a second round of breast cancer. The M-ettes and the Malta Student Council will be collecting bucket donations Thursday before both varsity games against Glasgow. Come out Thursday night and support Skyla. To honor her, Malta High students will be wearing retro Malta gear, feel free to join in on retro night! #MightyMalta
